Chattanooga has three Bowen Theory therapists who trained at the Bowen Center for the Study of the Family in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. Since 1978, approximately 5,000 families in the area have changed their lives through participating in the learning process that is offered by Bowen Theory. Of those 5,000, approximately 500 of those families entered the therapy process since 2008.

Each year the annual symposium introduces the community to Bowen Theory. The Bowen Theory Education Center's mission is to provide knowledge of concepts, principles, and application of Bowen Theory through a supervised experiential learning process to address the human condition.

The BTEC Training Program represents an opportunity for select individuals to study Bowen Theory in depth.
